Job summary

ReNew is seeking a Deputy Manager - Quality for Solar projects to lead quality assurance across supplier and manufacturing streams. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to quality plans, coordinating inspections, and driving corrective actions with suppliers.

The candidate will review MQPs, validate test reports, and implement CAPA efforts to enhance project quality. 5–12 years in VQA or related fields with a Mechanical Engineering background are desirable, based in Gurgaon.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Additional certifications in Quality Management, Auditing, or Supplier Quality will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely inspection and release of critical materials such as Transmission Structures, MMS and Fasteners.
  • Monitor compliance with inspection timelines and Turnaround Times (TATs).
  • Coordinate and witness inspection and testing activities at vendor locations.
  • Develop, assess, and qualify new vendors as per quality requirements.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate capabilities, quality systems and process controls.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Review and validate MQPs submitted by suppliers; evaluate Type Test Reports and qualification documents.
  • Lead root cause analysis and CAPA implementation to eliminate defects.
  • Coordinate Third-Party Inspection Agencies for project-specific inspections.
  • Maintain inspection records, quality reports, and audit documentation.

Job Description

Role - Deputy Manager - Quality - Solar

Location - Gurgaon

Exp - 5-12 Years

Academics - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely inspection and release of critical materials such as:
  • Transmission Structureso Module Mounting Structures (MMS)
  • Fastenerso Other project-critical components
  • Monitor compliance with inspection timelines and defined Turnaround Times (TATs).
    • Verify adherence to approved technical specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
    • Coordinate and witness inspection and testing activities at vendor locations.
Vendor Development & Qualification
  • Develop, assess, and qualify new vendors as per organizational quality and technical requirements.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, and process controls.
  • Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with approved quality standards.
  • Monitor vendor performance through periodic reviews, scorecards, and corrective action follow-ups.
Technical Validation & Quality Assurance
  • Review and validate Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs) submitted by suppliers.
  • Evaluate and approve Type Test Reports and product qualification documents.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory specifications.
  • Analyze quality trends and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
Failure Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Review, validate, and monitor Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports from suppliers.
  • Conduct field failure investigations and identify systemic quality issues.
  • Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation to eliminate recurring defects.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives across the supplier base.
Third-Party Inspection Management
  • Coordinate and manage Third-Party Inspection Agencies (TPIA) for inspection activities.
  • Ensure inspection agencies perform assessments in accordance with project specifications and quality plans.
  • Review inspection reports and ensure timely closure of observations and non-conformities.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain inspection records, quality reports, vendor qualification documents, and audit records.
  • Prepare periodic quality performance reports and supplier evaluation summaries.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal quality management systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Additional certifications in Quality Management, Auditing, or Supplier Quality will be an added advantage.
Experience
  • 5-12 years of experience in Vendor Quality Assurance (VQA), Supplier Quality, Inspection, or Quality Management.
  • Experience in transmission structures, solar module mounting structures, steel fabrication, heavy engineering, or EPC projects preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with supplier audits, inspections, testing validation, and failure analysis.
