Job summary

Whirlpool India is seeking a cost modelling expert to develop models for stamping and casting metal components, including extrusion and powdered metal, to drive target costing and productivity.

You will collaborate with Target Costing, Commodity, Design and Product Management teams, applying knowledge of stamping, casting tooling, and materials, with global partner interaction to ensure cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in handling commodities including metal stamping & casting.
• Educational background: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of technical and commercial aspects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost models for stamping and casting metal components (stamping, casting, extrusion, powdered metal).
• Lead cost-model development for metal commodities and engage with Target Costing, Commodity, Design and Product Management teams.
• Understand stamping/casting tooling, processes, materials and systems; communicate with global partners.
• Deliver accurate part/component costing for projects and generate cost improvement ideas.

The team you will be a part of

The Procurement team identifies researches and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier’s products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization’s quality standards.

This role in summary

Responsible for development of Cost models for Stamping and Casting associated Metal components like Metal Stamping , Casting , Al. Extrusion and Powdered Metal.

Your responsibilities will include Responsible for Cost Model development of Metal commodities. Close interaction with the Target Costing, Commodity , Design and Product Management ( Plant GSS ) Team. Basic knowledge of Stamping & Casting Tool, Manufacturing/engineering processes, materials & systems. Communication skills are a must to deal with global partners. Familiar with Metal Stamping , Pressure Die Casting , Sand Casting and Sintered Powdered Metal manufacturing processes and perform costing. Experience in Stamping shop floor and tooling are desired.

Key Deliverables Accuracy in part/ component costing for project management , generating cost ideas and delivering productivity.

Minimum requirements

6~10 yrs exp in handling commodities including Metal Stamping & Casting Educational Background – B.Tech Mechanical Engg Preferred – Knowledge of Technical and commercial both

Preferred skills and experiences

TECHNICAL

• High level experience on Stamping , Casting & Sintering manufacturing process, cycle time and MHR data.
• Knowledge of the design related cost parameters.
• Add value in supplier selection by cost evaluation and comparison.
• Knowledge about cost headers and factors that impact overall cost.
• Basic knowledge on procurement processes.
• Should be able to comprehend Stamping and Casting design drawings and conclude cost based on the design inputs.
• Work on global assignments and exposure with outside India projects

BEHAVIOURAL

• Communication skills are a must to deal with global partners and stakeholders.
• Should have good presentation skills
• Logical approach towards problem solving
