Deputy Manager - Mine Surveyor Responsibilities

Mine Surveyor - Coal Mining

Conducting Surveys and Measurements:

Perform detailed topographic and underground surveys using the latest surveying equipment and techniques to accurately measure and map the mine’s physical features. Measure and record the dimensions, elevations, and contours of mine workings and geological formations, ensuring all data is precise and reliable. Utilize advanced surveying software to collect, analyze, and process survey data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Developing and Maintaining Mine Plans:

Create and regularly update accurate mine plans, layouts, and sectional drawings that reflect the current state of mine workings and future development plans. Ensure all mine plans and layouts comply with statutory requirements, industry standards, and company policies, facilitating smooth regulatory audits and inspections. Collaborate with mining engineers, geologists, and mine management to adjust and optimize plans based on operational needs and geological findings.

Monitoring Geological Features:

Identify, record, and monitor geological formations, faults, and potential hazards within the mine, providing early warnings of any changes that could impact safety or operations. Assist in the assessment of ground stability, roof conditions, and potential safety risks by providing accurate geological data and interpretations. Support geological mapping and modeling efforts with precise survey data, aiding in the prediction and management of geological conditions.

Ensuring Regulatory Compliance:

Adhere to all relevant mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines, ensuring that all surveying activities are conducted legally and ethically. Prepare, maintain, and submit required reports, records, and documentation to regulatory bodies, ensuring all data is accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Participate in safety audits, inspections, and reviews, providing necessary survey data and supporting documentation to demonstrate compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Supporting Mine Planning and Development:

Provide critical survey data and insights to support the design, planning, and optimization of mine development projects, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of mine expansion and development projects, providing accurate survey data to guide decision-making and project implementation. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and safety, to ensure alignment of surveying activities with overall mine operational goals and objectives.

Implement and Optimize Digital Solutions:

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deploy digital tools that align with business objectives. Ensure the effective utilization of digital platforms to improve team efficiency and productivity.
