Job summary

Jubilant Ingrevia Limited is seeking a Deputy Manager - Instrumentation Construction (Projects) to drive instrumentation and automation initiatives across chemical/process plants in India. The role focuses on planning, execution, monitoring and delivering projects within cost, quality and schedule targets.

The candidate will lead DCS/PLC/SCADA integration, coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensure safety compliance and oversee commissioning, startup and handover activities to operations.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering is required.
• 6–11 years of experience in instrumentation & automation project execution in process industries.
• Hands-on experience in DCS/PLC/SCADA implementation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation and automation project execution from engineering review through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, civil, production) for seamless execution.
• Review control narratives, I/O lists, and interlock philosophies; ensure QA/QC during execution.
• Coordinate FAT/SAT, loop checking, and functional verification; support commissioning and startup.
• Ensure compliance with safety, EHS, and project documentation standards.
• Manage contractor & stakeholder relationships and ensure timely project handover.

Deputy Manager - Instrumentation Construction (Projects)

Position Summary

Responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of instrumentation and automation projects for chemical/process plants. The role involves managing construction activities, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and delivering projects within approved cost, quality, and schedule targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Construction & Execution
• Lead execution of instrumentation and automation project activities from construction to commissioning.
• Review engineering documents, P&IDs, instrument datasheets, control philosophies, and technical specifications.
• Prepare project schedules and monitor progress against milestones.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Production teams for seamless project execution.
• Ensure project completion within approved timelines and budgets.
• Track construction progress, productivity, and resource utilization.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, work scopes, and tender evaluation inputs.
• Monitor procurement and material delivery schedules to support project requirements.
• Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
• Automation & Control Systems
• Coordinate implementation of DCS, PLC, SCADA, and field instrumentation systems.
• Review I/O lists, control narratives, cause & effect matrices, interlock philosophies, and shutdown logics.

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering.
• 6-11 years of experience in Instrumentation & Automation project execution in Specialty Chemicals, Fine Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals, or Process Industries.
• Experience in greenfield, brownfield, debottlenecking, and CAPEX projects.
• Hands-on experience in DCS/PLC/SCADA systems implementation and commissioning.
