Job summary

Adani Wind Turbine Generators seeks a skilled engineer for OMS Engineering & Support - Electrical to perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance and optimization of wind turbine electrical systems. You will analyze generators, converters and transformers using SCADA data, support IEC/IEEE standards, and contribute to reliability improvements on site.

The role requires 3–5 years of FEA/engineering experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Design with 3–5 years in FEA/simulation.
• Proficiency in ANSYS Workbench and fatigue life calculation tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct extreme and fatigue analysis of wind turbine components to evaluate structural integrity and lifespan.
• Perform linear and nonlinear analysis of wind turbine components.
• Model nacelle, hub structures and bearings; assess non-linear materials like rubber dampers.
• Coordinate with design teams to improve component reliability; mentor junior staff.
• Plan and execute FEA tasks aligned with business requirements.

Job Purpose:

The OMS Engineering & Support - Electrical role involves advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems within wind turbines, including generators, converters, and transformers. This role conducts preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, uses data from SCADA systems to diagnose and resolve electrical faults, and ensures compliance with industry standards such as IEC and IEEE. The Engineer provides on-site technical assistance, performs root cause analysis of electrical failures, and collaborates with design teams to improve component reliability. This position also involves calibrating and maintaining diagnostic equipment, documenting maintenance activities, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by implementing best practices and exploring new technologies in electrical maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Extreme and fatigue analysis of wind turbine components to evaluate their structural integrity and lifespan
• Perform linear and non-linear analysis of wind turbine components
• Perform system level analysis of Nacelle and Hub including bearing modeling
• Perform Spherical roller bearing modeling and analysis using slicing method according to ISO 16281
• Perform modeling and analysis of non-linear material like rubber dampers for gearbox and generators.
• Evaluate castings, forgings and welding components as per certification scheme IECRE OD 501
• Perform buckling analysis
• Mentor less experienced team members
• Planning of FEA tasks aligning to business requirements

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Design with 3 - 5 years of experience in finite element analysis and simulation.
• Proficiency in using ANSYS software (Workbench and Fatigue life calculation tools.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and materials.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
