Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. is seeking an experienced Validation Engineer for Motor and Motor Controller Unit validation across component, system, and vehicle levels in Bengaluru. The role covers planning, testing, and documentation to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance of EV powertrains.

You will work with cross-functional teams on test plans, data analysis, and issue investigations, leveraging HIL setups, CAN tools, and lab equipment to deliver robust validation results.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of experience in validation engineering for EV powertrain
• Knowledge of AIS, ECE, ISO and IEC automotive standards
• Hands-on experience with CAN/CAN FD data acquisition and validation

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute validation activities for Motors and Motor Controller Units at component, system, and vehicle levels
• Conduct testing and qualification of powertrain systems per project requirements and validation plans
• Prepare, review, and release test reports and DVP&R documents
• Perform root cause analysis using 8D, FTA, Why-Why Analysis
• Coordinate with design, software and project teams to resolve validation concerns
• Plan revalidation activities and track corrective actions
• Utilize HIL setups and laboratory resources effectively
• Perform regulatory and certification tests for motors and MCUs
• Coordinate with external testing agencies as per test plan
• Prepare test setups for CAN and analog data acquisition systems
• Analyze validation data to support performance evaluation

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Validation Engineer for Motor and Motor Controller Unit (MCU) validation activities for Electric Vehicle programs. The role involves component-level, system-level, and vehicle-level validation, test planning and execution, issue investigation, regulatory testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance with automotive standards.

• Plan and execute validation activities for Motors and Motor Controller Units at component, system, and vehicle levels.
• Conduct testing and qualification of powertrain systems in line with project requirements and validation plans.
• Report critical and non-critical issues to module leads and project cross-functional teams.
• Prepare, review, and release test reports, validation results, and DVP&R documentation within agreed timelines.
• Participate in issue investigation and root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, FTA, and Why-Why Analysis.
• Plan and execute revalidation activities and track corrective actions for issue closure.
• Maintain and effectively utilize validation equipment, laboratory facilities, resources, and manpower.
• Execute regulatory and certification tests related to Motors and MCUs.
• Coordinate with external testing agencies for validation activities as per the approved test plan.
• Prepare test setups and instrumentation for CAN and analog data acquisition systems.
• Analyze validation data and support performance evaluation of Motor and MCU systems.
• Collaborate with design, software, and project teams to ensure timely resolution of validation concerns.

Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, or Automotive Engineering

General Requirements

• Knowledge of test automation using Python and CAPL scripting.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing setups.
• Hands-on experience in validation of power electronics components as per automotive standards such as AIS, ECE, ISO, and IEC.
• Experience in developing validation test cases based on real-world usage patterns, field failures, and cross-functional team inputs.
• Strong understanding of Electric Vehicles, e-Motor characteristics, and Motor Controller software functionalities.
• Hands-on experience with vehicle communication protocols including CAN and CAN FD.
• Proficiency in using Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers, CAN Data Loggers, Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, and Influx tools.
• Good knowledge of EV architecture, powertrain systems, and power electronics components.
• Ability to develop and execute validation plans for EV powertrain systems.
