Job summary

Paytm is seeking a Data Analyst (Finance) to analyze financial data, track payments performance, and automate daily reporting. You will work closely with Finance, FP&A, and Product teams to drive data‑driven financial decisions from Noida or Gurgaon.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in Finance or FinTech, strong SQL and Excel skills, plus experience with Tableau or Power BI for dashboards.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience as a Data Analyst within Finance, Payments, or FinTech.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel; experience with BI dashboards/tools (Tableau/Power BI).
• Solid understanding of financial basics, P&L, payments/settlements, and unit economics.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Power BI/Tableau dashboards to track financial metrics (revenue, margins, transactions, costs).
• Query large databases using SQL to analyze transaction trends, cost structures, and profitability.
• Reconcile transaction data across banks, gateways, and accounting records for accuracy.
• Assist Finance/FP&A with monthly closings, budgeting, variance analysis, and revenue forecasting.
• Automate routine financial reports using SQL and Python to reduce manual Excel work.

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Analyst with prior experience in a Finance team to help analyze financial data, track payments performance, and automate daily reporting. You will work closely with Finance, FP&A, and Product teams to drive data-backed financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Dashboards & Reporting: Create and maintain Power BI/Tableau dashboards to track financial metrics like revenue, margins, transaction volumes, and operating costs.
• Data Analysis: Query large databases using SQL to understand transaction trends, cost structures, and profitability.
• Reconciliation & Auditing: Reconcile transaction data across banks, payment gateways, and accounting records to ensure accuracy.
• FP&A Support: Help Finance and FP&A teams with monthly closings, budgeting, variance analysis, and revenue forecasting.
• Process Automation: Automate routine financial reports using SQL and Python to reduce manual Excel work.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 2–4 years of experience as a Data Analyst within a Finance, Payments, or FinTech environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel. Visualisation dashboards or business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI etc)
• Finance Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial basics, profit & loss (P&L), payments/settlements, and unit economics.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
