Job summary

Adani Power Ltd. in Madhya Pradesh seeks an experienced Mechanical Construction Engineer to supervise erection and installation activities for boiler structures, ducting systems, and related supports at a thermal power project.

You will coordinate with engineering, planning, safety, quality, and contractor teams to ensure smooth execution. The role requires hands-on experience with boiler structure erection and ducting erection, attention to drawings and specs, and monitoring construction

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 5–8 years of mechanical construction experience.
• Exposure to Thermal Power Plant projects preferred, especially boiler and ducting works.
• Hands-on supervision of construction activities per drawings and specs.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to quality standards.
• Experience managing contractors and site execution on large projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise erection and installation of boiler structures, ducting and supports.
• Execute structural erection of columns, beams, platforms and access structures.
• Monitor erection of ducts and associated systems per specs.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, erection methodologies, and quality.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, quality, safety, stores and contractors.
• Monitor progress to achieve project schedules and milestones.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors on site.
• Coordinate material availability and timely utilization of materials.
• Monitor fit-up, alignment, welding, bolting, and installation activities.
• Support inspections, NDT coordination, quality audits, and punch closure.
• Participate in pre-commissioning and mechanical completion.
• Track progress and prepare daily, weekly, monthly reports.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and Adani safety standards.
• Identify bottlenecks and coordinate resolution with stakeholders.
• Support project management in cost, quality, safety, and schedule targets.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise erection and installation activities of Boiler Structures, Ducting Systems, and associated supports.
• Execute structural erection activities including columns, beams, platforms, galleries, bracings, stairways, and access structures.
• Monitor erection of Air Ducts, Flue Gas Ducts, ESP Ducts, APH Connecting Ducts, Expansion Joints, Dampers, and associated systems.
• Ensure compliance with construction drawings, technical specifications, erection methodologies, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, quality, safety, stores, and contractor teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure achievement of project schedules and milestones.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors engaged in structural and ducting erection activities.
• Coordinate material availability and ensure timely utilization of supplied materials.
• Monitor fit-up, alignment, welding, bolting, and installation activities as per approved procedures.
• Support inspection activities, NDT coordination, quality audits, and punch point closure.
• Participate in pre-commissioning activities and ensure mechanical completion of assigned systems.
• Track project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction reports.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Mandatory

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred

• Diploma/Certification in Construction Management.
• Certification in Structural Erection, Welding Inspection, or QA/QC.

Mandatory Experience

Experience Requirements (Must Have)

• 5-8 years of experience in Mechanical Construction Projects.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Thermal Power Plant Projects.
• Hands-on experience in Boiler Structure Erection.
• Experience in Ducting Erection and Installation.
• Experience in project execution, construction supervision, and contractor management.
• Exposure to utility-scale power projects of 300 MW+ preferred.
• Experience in construction progress monitoring and reporting.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of Mechanical Construction experience.
• Thermal Power Project experience preferred.
• Mandatory exposure to Boiler Structure Erection.
• Mandatory exposure to Ducting Erection.
