Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer in Bengaluru to design and develop EV charging power converters, including PFC, LLC, Full-Bridge, and DC-DC topologies.

You will select and validate critical components, ensure EMC/safety compliance, and collaborate across hardware, firmware, mechanical, and supplier teams. Responsibilities include prototype bring-up, testing, root-cause analysis, and planning validation activities for product and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in power electronics and SMPS design.
• Experience with OBC, PFC, LLC, and DC-DC converters.
• EMI/EMC mitigation and thermal design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop EV charging power converters (PFC, LLC, Full-Bridge, Half-Bridge, DC-DC).
• Select, size, validate MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, magnetics, capacitors, protection circuits.
• Ensure EMC, safety, and reliability in hardware.
• Create schematics and collaborate with PCB teams for layout and thermal performance.
• Lead prototype bring-up, testing, and root-cause analysis.
• Plan validation activities for product and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing and suppliers.
• Prepare design docs, validation reports, and support design reviews.
• Drive cost, performance, quality, and reliability improvements of charging solutions.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop EV charging power converters including PFC, LLC, Full-Bridge, Half-Bridge, and Synchronous Buck topologies
• Select, size, and validate critical power components such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC devices, magnetics, capacitors, and protection circuits
• Design, debug, and validate analog and digital hardware ensuring compliance with EMC, safety, and reliability requirements
• Develop schematics and collaborate with PCB teams for optimized layout, thermal performance, and manufacturability
• Lead prototype bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
• Plan and execute validation activities for product and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and supplier teams for successful product development
• Prepare design documentation, validation reports, and support design reviews
• Drive cost, performance, quality, and reliability improvements of charging solutions

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in power electronics, SMPS, OBC, PFC, LLC, and DC-DC converter design
• Hands-on experience in EMI/EMC mitigation, magnetics design, thermal design, and hardware validation
• Familiarity with simulation tools such as LTspice, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, or PSIM
• Experience with schematic design and PCB review tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or Cadence
• Knowledge of automotive product development and EV charging standards

Preferred Experience

• EV Chargers, On-Board Chargers (OBC), DC-DC Converters, Automotive Power Electronics, or Electric Vehicle Systems
