The Deputy General Manager will drive technology transfer, scale-up, GMP adherence (cGMP, US FDA, WHO, EU GMP), and lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic manufacturing objectives.

• Oversee upstream and downstream manufacturing operations to meet targets and optimize yield.
• Drive technology transfer from R&D to production and scale-up of processes.
• Lead QC function, ensure timely testing, data integrity, and batch release documentation.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, US FDA, WHO, and EU GMP standards.
• Lead audits, CAPA, SOPs, and continuous quality improvement.
• Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support capacity planning, budgeting, capital investment, and long-term strategy.
• Coordinate with QA, RA, EHS, Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain for safe ops.
• Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing and QC teams.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader to oversee end-to-end biotech manufacturing operations, including upstream fermentation, downstream purification, biotransformation, and quality control. The role focuses on production efficiency, technology transfer, scale-up, GMP compliance, and operational excellence in enzymatic product manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day upstream and downstream manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, yield optimization, productivity, and contamination control.
• Drive technology transfer from R&D to production, process scale-up, validation, and commissioning of new products.
• Lead the Quality Control (QC) function, ensuring timely testing, analytical accuracy, data integrity, and batch release documentation.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP, US FDA, WHO, and EU GMP standards.
• Manage audits, inspections, CAPA, SOPs, batch records, and continuous quality improvement.
• Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, process optimization, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support capacity planning, budgeting, capital investment, and long-term manufacturing strategy.
• Coordinate with QA, RA, EHS, Engineering, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing and QC teams.

Candidate Requirements

• 15–20 years of experience in production and manufacturing operations within the biotechnology industry.
• Strong expertise in microbial fermentation, upstream processing, downstream purification, and biotransformation.
• Experience in technology transfer, process scale-up, validation, and new product commissioning.
• Proven leadership experience across manufacturing and quality control.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, US FDA, WHO, and EU GMP requirements.
• Experience in regulatory audits, quality systems, documentation, and CAPA.
• Excellent strategic planning, team leadership, troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination skills.
