Job summary

Visteon is seeking a Deputy General Manager Customer Quality to lead interface with OEM accounts for automotive electronics quality. You will drive product launch quality, rapid field issue resolution, zero-km containment, and audits with MSIL, Honda, and other OEMs in the NCR region.

The role requires 16+ years in automotive electronics quality, with 5+ years directly managing Maruti Suzuki and/or Honda accounts. A B.E./B.Tech in ECE or Electrical Eng and Six Sigma certification are essential.

• Manage 0-KM containment and 8D/Root cause analysis to prevent line stoppage.
• Lead OEM supplier audits including IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, CSR alignment.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and SCM on ECN/ECR and field warranties.

Job description

Job Purpose:

The Deputy General Manager Customer Quality will serve as the premier technical and quality leader interfacing between our electronics manufacturing facilities/warehouse and key OEM accounts (Maruti Suzuki, Honda, and Hero MotoCorp). The incumbent will drive product launch quality, rapid field issue resolution, APQP/PPAP approvals, zero-km line containment, and continuous quality audits mandated by OEM passenger vehicle and two-wheeler divisions

Key responsibilities:

• OEM Quality Interface & Account Leadership: Lead single-point quality governance with Maruti Suzuki (MSIL) and Honda Quality Assurance / SQD departments. Build high-level technical trust with OEM quality directors and line managers.
• Infotainment & Electronic Systems Quality: Supervise end-to-end quality engineering for complex automotive electronics, including head units, touchscreens, telematics control units (TCU), display audios, and connected vehicle hardware.
• APQP / PPAP Submissions: Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and execute flawless Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign-offs for new Maruti Suzuki and Honda infotainment platform rollouts.
• 0-KM & Assembly Line Containment: Oversee immediate 24-hour containment and root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for any line-reject issues at OEM assembly plants to guarantee zero line-stoppage.
• OEM Quality Audits: Lead plant and hub facilities through rigorous OEM supplier audits, including VDA 6.3 process audits, IATF 16949 standards, and Maruti Suzuki Green Status certifications.
• Cross-Functional & Engineering Integration: Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, and SCM to drive Engineering Change Requests (ECN/ECR), firmware/hardware update validations, and field warranty reduction programs.

Qualifications, Skills, & Experience

• Minimum 16 years of progressive experience in Automotive Electronics Quality, with a minimum of 5 years directly handling Maruti Suzuki and/or Honda accounts in NCR.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• Comprehensive knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), ASPICE standards, and IPC standards for electronic assemblies and PCBAs.
• Outstanding technical communication, executive presence, high-stakes negotiation, and crisis management under OEM assembly line pressure

Critical experiences required to be ready for this job:

• Mandatory experience in Automotive Electronics (Auto Electronics) domain.
• Deep expertise in quality methodologies and standards including 8D, IATF 16949, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, and SPC.
• Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• In-depth knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) across OEMs
