Piramal Pharma Solutions in Digwal, Telangana, India, seeks a Deputy Chief Manager - Utilities to maintain uninterrupted service of HVAC, water, steam, and gas systems at the production site.

You will lead a team of engineers, ensure cGMP compliance, develop preventative maintenance programs, and drive energy efficiency while coordinating with E&M and production teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in API manufacturing preferred.
  • 15–18 years of progressive experience in managing utility operations within pharmaceutical manufacturing or other highly regulated industry.
  • Proven experience with HVAC systems, purified water generation and distribution, steam generation, compressed air systems, and industrial gases.
  • Strong understanding of cGMP regulations, FDA guidelines, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Manager in developing and implementing strategic plans for utility infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and expansion projects.
  • Supervise and lead a team of engineers and technicians responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of utility systems (HVAC, purified water, steam, compressed air, nitrogen, etc.).
  • Ensure the continuous and reliable supply of all utilities to support manufacturing operations, minimizing downtime and production interruptions.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and emergency response plans for utility systems.
  • Monitor utility consumption, identify areas for energy efficiency improvements, and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Oversee the procurement and inventory management of spare parts and consumables for utility equipment.
  • Ensure all utility operations comply with cGMP, FDA, and other relevant regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of utility systems to identify potential risks and ensure operational integrity.
  • Manage vendor relationships for utility services, equipment, and maintenance contracts.
  • Prepare detailed reports on utility performance, budgets, and project progress for senior management.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Role Summary

To Maintain and provide Un-interrupted service of all Utility, HVAC & water system related services at site to meet production requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Certification in relevant utility systems or project management is a plus.
