Qualifications

  • B.Tech Mechanical or equivalent in engineering.
  • 12–15 years of experience in utilities/boiler operations in pharma or related facilities.
  • Strong background in preventive, predictive, routine and shutdown maintenance and GMP/cGMP compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Operations & maintenance of utilities; diagnose faults and ensure quality repairs with precision.
  • Plan erection, commissioning and startup of capital projects or plant modifications.
  • Evaluate bidder technical submittals and respond to technical queries; manage BOQ and tender specs.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP procedures and company policies.
  • Lead a team of engineers; coordinate with external agencies for maintenance work.
  • Track breakdowns, plan preventive maintenance and shutdown activities.
  • Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and technical evaluations of bids.

Job Description

Deputy Chief Manager for Utility, Boiler operation and maintenance Experienced in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of utility systems in pharmaceutical facilities. Skilled in preventive, predictive, routine, and shutdown maintenance with effective team and external agency coordination. Expertise in utility system design, project erection, commissioning, plant modifications, and technical evaluation of equipment. Proficient in GMP/cGMP compliance, tender specifications, BOQ, cost estimation, vendor management, and budget tracking. Focused on equipment reliability, quality repairs, energy conservation, cost optimization, and timely project execution.



Key Roles & Responsibilities


  • Operations & Maintenance of Utilities & Fault diagnosis & rectification, technical skills for sound, cost effective & quality repairs/ overhauling with precision, Problem solving and troubleshooting of Utility equipment, monitoring Co-ordinate with plant & external agency for predictive, routine maintenance, preventive maintenance and shutdown maintenance in a planned manner & prioritization.

  • Planning of Erection, commissioning and start up of Capital projects / Plant modification jobs.

  • Evaluate bidder’s technical submittals, Participation of tender specifications and BOQ prepare recommendations, and respond to technical queries and clarification.

  • Review & ensure compliance with Company’s GMP procedures.

  • To work with & support a team of engineers for carrying out various types of operations & maintenance.

  • Ensuring the completion of the breakdown, planned jobs and cross verifying the same.

  • Preparation of cost estimates, engineering specifications, enquiry documents, technical evaluation of bids etc.

  • Responsible for design (Concept / Basic / Detail) of the Utility systems.

  • Conversant with Utility design for pharmaceutical facilities to compliance with various guidelines like cGMP, WHO, and other engineering guidelines etc.

  • Evaluate the technical specification of each utility equipment.

  • Review the Design Equipment Layout, Piping Layout.

  • Responsible for reviewing and approval for design specification prepared by design engineers and ensures the quality of work done.

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project team functions to assist in managing engineering execution and project management deliverable.

  • Identification of new vendors, consultants etc. to fulfil the project specifications time to time.

  • Responsible for bills verification & further processing the bills.

  • Responsible for tracking budget vs actual expenditure.

  • Responsible for implementation of Energy conservation initiatives.

  • Responsible for any other job assigned by the Head of Department.
