Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED seeks a Demand Planner to develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for its products, ensuring optimal inventory levels and supporting the SOP process to meet customer needs and business objectives.

You will work with sales, marketing, product management, and supply chain to gather insights, validate forecast assumptions, and monitor forecast accuracy, contributing to a reliable consensus forecast and effective inventory planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a similar analytical role, preferably within the manufacturing or energy sector.
  • Proven experience with statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, JDA/Blue Yonder).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) and other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of S&OP processes and principles is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain accurate demand forecasts at various levels of aggregation using statistical models and input from sales/marketing.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotions and new products to identify demand drivers.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product management, and supply chain to validate forecast assumptions.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, identify variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in the S&OP process, present demand plans, and contribute to consensus forecasting.
  • Support inventory optimization by providing accurate demand signals to production/procurement.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs related to demand planning and report performance.
  • Utilize advanced planning software/tools to enhance forecasting capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within demand planning.

Job Summary
