Cloudxtreme in Hyderabad, India is seeking an experienced Delphi developer (5-12 years) to lead and support migration of legacy Windows desktop applications from Delphi 6 to Delphi 13 (RAD Studio). The role requires deep Object Pascal expertise, strong VCL-based development, and hands-on refactoring and component upgrades.

Exposure to .NET interoperability and modernization practices is essential, with strong SQL skills for ADO databases.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Delphi 6 apps and drive end-to-end migration to Delphi 10+/RAD Studio.
• Refactor legacy Object Pascal code and modernize components.
• Upgrade third-party libraries and resolve compatibility and build issues.
• Support database integration changes, testing, defect resolution and deployment.
• Collaborate with Architects, Business Analysts and QA to ensure parity and performance.
• Document migration approach, decisions, risk and remediation plans.
• Contribute to secure coding and maintainability standards.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Delphi / Object Pascal development
• Practical experience with modern Delphi versions (RAD Studio/Delphi 10, Delphi 13 preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Visual Component Library (VCL), Windows desktop application development
• Strong understanding of ActiveX libraries, COM components and package management in legacy applications
• Good hands-on experience of Object orientation concepts and designing principles
• Good experience in ADO database frameworks, strong SQL skills, including stored procedures, functions across relational databases
• Proven experience in legacy application modernization and migration projects
• Good experience with performance profiling, memory leak detection in Delphi applications
• Experience with static code analysers, Git version control and unit testing frameworks ex- DUnitX

Key Responsibilities
