Job summary

Metaphor Infotech Mumbai is seeking an AM for Portfolio Valuation to lead valuations of illiquid investments and support fund analysis.

The role includes updating and building models (DCF, LBO, comps), benchmarking, and preparing valuation sections of reports, coordinating with onshore teams.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications: CA / CFA / MBA (Specialization in Finance & Investment Management).
  • A minimum of five years of experience in valuation services, investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, or valuation-related fields.
  • Advanced finance, financial modeling, accounting, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance principles and valuation techniques; knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
  • Strong communication and business writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare valuations of illiquid investments and other alternatives.
  • Update/build financial models using DCF, LBO, trading and transaction comps, and allocation models.
  • Analyze financial and economic data for target and guideline companies and markets.
  • Utilize Capital IQ, Thomson Reuters, and other data providers.
  • Conduct financial and operational benchmarking.
  • Structure and write valuation reports and memos, including business and industry overviews.
  • Review the work of team members and provide guidance.
  • Engage with onshore teams through project collaboration.

Job description

Scouting for an AM for Portfolio Valuation Team
  • Preparation of valuations of illiquid investments including private equity, performing credit, distressed debt, real estate, loan pools, and structured products within the alternative investment space
  • — Update and/or build new existing financial models including diverse valuation methods, such as discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and allocation models
  • — Perform analysis on financial and economic data, subject companies, guideline companies, industries and markets, and other types of fund and investment analysis
  • — Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Bloomberg, Capital IQ and other application and data providers
  • — Perform financial and operational benchmarking
  • — Structure and write majority sections of valuation reports and memos, including business overview, industry overview and valuation sections
  • — Perform business valuation model reviews
  • — Review the work of/guide team members
  • — Build strong professional relationship with onshore teams through project work
Job Requirements
Mandatory Skills
  • Qualifications: CA / CFA / MBA (Specialization in Finance & Investment Management)
  • A minimum of fiveyears of experience in more than one of the following areas: valuation services (illiquid investments), investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, valuation, financial statement analysis, quantitative analysis, statistical sampling and econometrics, fixed income, and/or capital markets
  • Possess advanced finance, financial modeling, accounting, and analytical abilities
  • Command over financial statements and financial ratios
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance principles and valuation techniques
  • Good understanding of capital markets
  • Knowledge of relevant respective local GAAP or IFRS standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business writing and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (specifically, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint)
  • Command in using research databases such as Capital IQ, Thomson Reuters, among others
