Job summary

Sigma Allied Services is seeking a DB2 DBA L3 for hybrid work in Hyderabad/Chennai. The role requires 3–5 years of lead experience and deep hands-on DB2 on z/OS knowledge. You will perform production support, tuning, and utilities, ensuring high availability for critical databases.

The position offers a competitive INR salary, with 3 days in office and the rest remote, aligning with market rates for the stated experience levels.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Mainframe DB2 on z/OS.
• Experience with IBM DB2 V13 for z/OS and IMS DB.
• DB2 performance tuning and SQL optimization expertise.
• Hands-on DB2 utilities: REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, LOAD, UNLOAD, BIND/REBIND.
• Experience with DB2 tools (Catalog Manager, Change Manager, Log Master, APPTUNE, MainView).
• DB2 Data Sharing and Parallel Sysplex knowledge is a plus.
• Experience supporting critical databases across environments and in production.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 DB2 database support and troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Perform database maintenance and performance tuning.
• Support data movement activities and ensure stability of critical DB2 environments.

Role & responsibilities

DB2 DBA L3 Support

Experience: 3-5 years

Experience: Lead with more than 5 or 6 years experience

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Mainframe DB2 on z/OS.
• Experience with IBM DB2 V13 for z/OS and IMS DB.
• Strong knowledge of DB2 performance tuning, including SQL query optimization, index management, workload management, DB2 Performance Monitor, and BMC APPTUNE.
• Hands-on experience with DB2/BMC utilities such as REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, LOAD, UNLOAD, MODIFY, CHECK, RECOVER, REBUILD, and BIND/REBIND.
• Experience with IBM DB2 tools and BMC tools such as Catalog Manager, Change Manager, Log Master, APPTUNE, and MainView.
• Experience with DB2 Data Sharing and Parallel Sysplex environments.
• Experience supporting highly critical databases across multiple environments.
• Experience in database maintenance, data movement, performance tuning, and production support activities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Role Expectations: The resource will provide L3 DB2 database support, troubleshoot complex production issues, perform database maintenance and performance tuning, support data movement activities, and ensure the stability and availability of critical DB2 environments.

Preferred candidate profile

WORK LOCATION :

Hyderabad/Chennai location only

WORK PREFERANCE :

Hybrid- 3 days work from office is mandatory

INR 20 LPA to 24 LPA (Max) for Experience: 3 years to 5 years

INR 25 LPA to 27 LPA (Max) for Experience: Lead with more than 5 or 6 years’ experience
