Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services invites candidates to a walk-in drive in Chennai for the Database Tower Lead role.

The position requires 7 to 10 years of database experience with hands-on expertise in MariaDB, Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL and cloud databases (AWS/Azure/GCP). You will oversee operations, architecture, security, and lead a team of DBAs.

Key Responsibilities -

• Operations & Delivery: Oversee daily database support, maintenance, patching, and high-availability operations (such as clustering or replication).
• Architecture & Strategy: Drive structural design, capacity planning, software upgrades, and cross-platform migrations.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce strict data governance, security parameters, and disaster recovery/backup plans.
• Team Leadership: Mentor junior and mid-level DBAs, manage escalations, and coordinate with cross-functional IT infrastructure towers.

Required Skills & Qualifications -

• Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in platforms MariaDB, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL
• Cloud Knowledge: Experience managing cloud-hosted databases (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Soft Skills: Incident management, stakeholder communication, and vendor coordination"
