Job summary

Rohnium is seeking a senior database architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable RDBMS solutions in production environments. You will drive data modeling, performance tuning, and security while mentoring a small team of 2–5 developers.

Collaborate with product and architecture teams to translate business needs into robust database designs, leveraging cloud RDBMS and modern data orchestration tools like Airflow and dbt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in RDBMS Design & development (SQL Server/ Oracle/ PostgreSQL)
• Deep understanding of database design principles, normalization/denormalization, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with large datasets, high-concurrency systems, and production environments.
• Solid knowledge of database security, backup, replication, and high availability setups.
• Proven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Ability to manage and process large datasets in production environments.
• Expertise in complex Stored Procedures, , Dynamic SQL, Views, Functions, Triggers
• Experience in leading a database team, assigning tasks, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring project timelines.
• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable RDBMS solutions.
• Manage and mentor a team of 2–5 database developers/analysts, providing technical guidance and code reviews.
• Own end-to-end project execution: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and application developers to translate business needs into efficient database designs.
• Drive SQL development (stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, CTEs) with best practices and standards.
• Ensure database performance, scalability, and reliability through indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Implement and oversee database DevOps (CI/CD), version control, and release management processes.
• Manage data integrity, security, and compliance requirements.
• Conduct capacity planning, backup/recovery strategy, and disaster recovery setup.
• Provide technical leadership in adopting modern practices such as cloud RDBMS, data orchestration (Airflow, dbt), and integration with AI/ML pipelines.
