Job summary

Papigen is seeking an experienced Database & Azure Migration Developer to support enterprise-scale data migration and modernization initiatives in India. The role centers on reverse-engineering Oracle PL/SQL, building Azure Data Factory pipelines, and ensuring data integrity across migrations.

You will work with Data Modelers, Architects, QA, and downstream teams to map source-to-target data, validate results, and deliver comprehensive migration specs and validation reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in data migration, modernization, or integration projects.
• Strong Oracle PL/SQL with ability to reverse-engineer legacy logic.
• Proficient in Azure Data Factory and Azure data services.
• Experience with data governance, security, and cloud best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and reverse-engineer Oracle PL/SQL and legacy data processing logic.
• Translate legacy database logic into Azure-based migration and integration solutions.
• Design and develop Azure Data Factory pipelines for data movement, transformation, and orchestration.
• Work with Azure Data Lake and other Azure data services.
• Perform source-to-target mapping, data transformation, reconciliation, and validation.
• Ensure functional equivalence, data accuracy, traceability, and cross-system consistency.
• Collaborate with Data Modelers, Architects, QA, and downstream teams.
• Prepare LLDs, mapping documents, migration specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
• Support integration testing, UAT, production deployment, and post-production stabilization.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, performance, and cloud best practices.
• Participate in Scrum/Agile ceremonies and coordinate with onsite/offshore teams.
• Maintain ownership of assigned deliverables, dependencies, risks, and timelines.

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL and ability to reverse-engineer complex legacy logic.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake and Azure data processing workflows.
• Experience with large-volume data migration, reconciliation, and validation.
• Strong knowledge of relational data modeling, keys, cross-reference tables, and data structures.
• Experience with source-to-target mapping and data transformation.
• Experience supporting Integration Testing, UAT, deployments, and production support.
• Strong SQL, troubleshooting, analytical, and RCA skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, or other Azure data services.
• Experience migrating Oracle/legacy databases to Azure.
• Knowledge of data governance and cloud security practices.
• Experience working in large enterprise onsite/offshore Agile teams.
