Job summary

Raise is seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our product development team in Goregaon West, Mumbai. You will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases, with hands-on involvement in backup, recovery, replication, and optimization.

The ideal candidate has 1–4 years of DBA experience, strong knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL, and scripting skills. You will collaborate with developers and DevOps to ensure reliable data services and scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in Database Administration.
• Good knowledge of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Strong SQL and query optimization skills.
• Understanding of database design, schemas, indexes, and normalization.
• Basic knowledge of backup, recovery, and replication.
• Exposure to ClickHouse or similar databases is a plus.
• Knowledge of scripting/automation using Shell or Python is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, maintain, and monitor MySQL/PostgreSQL databases.
• Monitor database performance, identify issues, and support query and database optimization.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient database performance.
• Assist in database backup, recovery, and restoration activities.
• Monitor database health, availability, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Support database migration and data transformation activities.
• Assist with database upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
• Automate routine database administration tasks wherever possible.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, system admins, and other teams to resolve database issues.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our product development team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. They will also be involved in the planning and development of the database, troubleshooting any issues, and ensuring efficient and secure database operations.

Expected Responsibilities

• Design, configure, maintain, and monitor MySQL/PostgreSQL databases.
• Monitor database performance, identify issues, and support query and database optimization.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to ensure efficient database performance.
• Assist in database backup, recovery, and restoration activities.
• Monitor database health, availability, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Support database migration and data transformation activities.
• Assist in setting up and managing database replication.
• Support database security by managing access, permissions, and basic security controls.
• Perform regular database health checks and audits.
• Assist with database upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
• Automate routine database administration tasks wherever possible.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, system administrators, and other technology teams to resolve database-related issues.
• Maintain database documentation, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Stay updated on database technologies, tools, and industry best practices.
• Participate in on‑call/support activities as required.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in Database Administration.
• Good knowledge of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Strong SQL and query optimization skills.
• Understanding of database design, schemas, indexes, and normalization.
• Basic knowledge of backup, recovery, and replication.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of database security and access management.
• Exposure to ClickHouse or similar databases is a plus.
• Knowledge of scripting/automation using Shell or Python is an added advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Location

Goregaon West, Mumbai (Preference will be given to candidates residing in Mumbai's Western suburbs).
