Job summary

Tata Communications is seeking an experienced DBA to manage diverse databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and Click House in a Linux environment. You will design schemas, perform tuning, backups, DR/HA, and migrations while supporting data warehousing and ETL pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DBA experience with multiple RDBMS.
• Hands-on with PostgreSQL/Oracle/MySQL and OLAP Click House.
• Experience in tuning, backups, DR and HA strategies.
• Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.
• Certifications in Oracle or PostgreSQL are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and Click House databases.
• Perform tuning, design schemas, backups, DR, and migrations.
• Monitor with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
• Administer Linux systems and perform Bash scripting.
• Manage RabbitMQ and Apache Pulsar messaging queues and replication.
• Support data warehousing with large-scale ingestion and ETL.
• Automate DBA tasks with Ansible or Terraform; support CI/CD for deployments.
• Provide production incident support and RCA.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and Click House databases
• Perform database tuning and performance optimization
• Design schemas, indexes, and partitioning strategies
• Manage backups, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability (HA)
• Perform database upgrades, patching, and migrations

Performance and Monitoring

• Monitor database systems using tools like pgAdmin, Oracle OEM, MySQL Workbench
• Use Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix for monitoring
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Optimize CPU, memory, and I/O usage

Security and Compliance

• Implement role-based access control (RBAC)
• Manage encryption (data at rest and in transit)
• Ensure security standards and compliance policies

Linux and Infrastructure

• Work on Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
• Perform shell scripting (Bash)
• Analyse logs and system performance
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams

Messaging Systems

• Administer RabbitMQ and Apache Pulsar
• Manage queues, topics, partitions
• Configure replication and high availability
• Monitor and troubleshoot message flow issues

Data Warehousing

• Manage Click House clusters
• Optimize large-scale data ingestion and queries
• Support analytics workloads and ETL pipelines

Automation and DevOps

• Automate DBA tasks using Bash and Python
• Use Ansible or Terraform (optional)
• Support CI/CD pipelines for database deployments

Incident Management

• Provide production support
• Troubleshoot outages and issues
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA)

Required Skills

Core Database Skills: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures Query tuning and indexing

Advanced Skills: Click House (OLAP systems) RabbitMQ and Apache Pulsar

System Skills: Strong Linux administration knowledge Apache server basics Bash

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of DBA experience

Certifications preferred (Oracle, PostgreSQL, My SQL)

Nice to Have: Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) Kubernetes and containerization Kafka, Airflow knowledge
