Job summary

NTT DATA seeks a Storage & Backup Administrator to join our Bangalore team. The role involves deep troubleshooting of storage and backup environments, provisioning tasks, and supporting operational activities.

You will handle LUN creation, NAS shares, quotas, and restore operations, while monitoring tape libraries and retention schedules. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in storage/backup and hands-on experience with NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, and DataDomain/NetApp.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of storage/backup operations experience.
• Solid understanding of SAN zoning, LUN masking, and iSCSI/FC.
• Familiar with backup software such as NetBackup, Commvault, or Veeam.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot moderately complex storage issues.
• Provision LUNs, NAS shares, and quota management.
• Troubleshoot backup failures and coordinate restores.
• Monitor tape libraries, media pools, and retention schedules.
• Support patching and firmware upgrades; analyze backup logs; mentor others.

We are currently seeking a Database Administration Analyst - SQL to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

G5 – Storage & Backup Administrator (Intermediate L1 / Junior L2)

Role Summary

G5 engineers perform deeper troubleshooting of storage and backup environments, manage routine provisioning tasks, and support scheduled operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot moderately complex storage issues:
• LUN accessibility
• Pathing/multipathing issues
• High latency alerts
• Storage pool warnings
• Perform provisioning and routine tasks under SOP:
• LUN creation and mapping
• NAS share creation
• Quota management
• Troubleshoot backup failures at a deeper level:
• Client configuration issues
• Network connectivity errors
• Media server issues
• Storage target unavailability
• Perform restores of files/folders/databases after validation.
• Monitor and manage tape libraries, media pools, retention schedules.
• Support patching, firmware upgrades (pre-checks/post-checks).
• Analyze logs to identify recurring backup issues.
• Mentor G4 engineers and review their ticket quality.

Skills Required

• 1–3 years’ experience in storage/backup operations.
• Solid understanding of SAN zoning, LUN masking, iSCSI/FC connectivity.
• Knowledge of snapshot management & replication basics.
• Hands-on experience with tools like NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, DataDomain, EMC, NetApp.
• Basic scripting familiarity (PowerShell/Bash optional but beneficial).
