Job summary

Liebherr Group in Pune seeks a seasoned PCB Manufacturing Engineer to prepare, validate, and optimize PCB data for SMT production. You will manage machine programs for SMT equipment and ensure data packages (Gerber, ODB++, IPC-2581, BOM, CPL) are accurate and ready for manufacture.

You will collaborate with PCB Design, Production Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure DFM/DFA compliance and drive continuous improvement in data quality and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Electronics, Telecom, Electrical, or Industrial engineering.
• 5-8 years in PCB Manufacturing, SMT planning, or data prep.
• Hands-on with Siemens Valor and SMT programming environments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Preparation, validation, and optimization of PCB manufacturing data for SMT production.
• Create, maintain, and optimize machine programs for Pick & Place, AOI, SPI, and related manufacturing equipment.
• Manage and validate manufacturing data packages including Gerber, ODB++, IPC-2581, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Component Placement List (CPL).
• Analyze PCB design data and ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) compliance.
• Coordinate with PCB Design, Production Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams for seamless product realization.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, prototype builds, and product industrialization processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing, programming, and assembly-related issues to improve production efficiency.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing engineering databases, libraries, and machine setup documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, manufacturing data quality, process optimization, and automation workflows.
• Maintain and enhance manufacturing engineering tools such as Siemens Valor and other MES/CAM-related applications.
• Support capacity planning, production scheduling, and process standardization activities.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, IPC requirements, and manufacturing best practices.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with Siemens Valor Process Preparation, Valor NPI, or similar PCB manufacturing engineering tools.
• Strong understanding of SMT manufacturing processes including solder paste printing, SPI, Pick & Place, reflow soldering, and AOI inspection.
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing data formats such as Gerber, ODB++, IPC-2581, BOM, Centroid/CPL, and fabrication drawings.
• Experience in creating and optimizing machine programs for SMT equipment.
• Working knowledge of PCB design tools such as Xpedition, Altium Designer, PADS, OrCAD, or KiCad.
• Ability to perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
• Familiarity with CAM tools such as CAM350, Valor, GerbTool, or equivalent platforms.
• Knowledge of IPC standards including IPC-A-610, IPC-7351, IPC-2221, IPC-2581, and IPC-6012.
• Experience with ERP/PLM systems such as SAP, Windchill, or Enovia will be an added advantage.
• Understanding of manufacturing process documentation, work instructions, and engineering change management.

Qualification and Education Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline).

Experience:

• 5-8 years of experience in PCB Manufacturing Industry, SMT Production Planning, PCB Data Preparation, or related functions.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens Valor and SMT programming environments preferred.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, or PCB assembly industry will be an added advantage.

Peferred Skills / Special Skills:

• Exposure to NPI, DFM/DFA, and industrialization activities.
• Understanding of SMT line balancing and production planning concepts.
• Knowledge of automation workflows and manufacturing process optimization.
