Data Scientist – Hybrid
This role is designed as a hybrid position, with an expectation of working an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office.
Job Summary
As part of HPE Operations, you will advise, integrate, and accelerate customers’ outcomes from their digital transformation by developing analytics solutions that translate business requirements into measurable insights.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and define analytics solution objectives and technical requirements based on user needs, business processes, and advanced analytic models.
- Conceptualise, build, develop, and enhance client analytic models using appropriate statistical, machine‑learning, and data‑mining techniques.
- Select the relevant modelling methodology for each use case, considering structured and unstructured data, cost and timing constraints.
- Embed analytic models into operational systems by collaborating with Application Developers.
- Measure business performance based on developed models and drive continuous improvement.
- Apply best practices in analytics solution development and contribute to improved methodologies.
- Lead model enhancements and support the team in maintaining high quality solutions.
- Create visual representations of model insights to simplify user experience.
- Communicate analytical solutions and insights to stakeholders effectively.
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced knowledge in data‑science methodologies such as regression, neural nets, CHAID, CART, association rules, sequence analysis, cluster analysis, and text mining.
- Ability to translate business requirements into mathematical models and data‑science objectives.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and analytics deployment architectures.
- Strong programming knowledge in Python, SQL, R, SAS, Java, and Unix Shell scripting, with desired experience in Hadoop.
- Understanding of data‑visualisation tools such as Power BI, R, and QlikView.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working across geographical boundaries and in a collaborative team environment.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Management, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–6 years of relevant experience in data‑science analytics.
