Job summary

PayU (India) seeks a Manager - Data Science to lead a team of data scientists and own end-to-end AI/ML solutions, spanning design, deployment, and maintenance.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, explore innovative data sources, and ensure high-quality analytics and reports that drive business decisions in a fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics or similar quantitative field.
• 5+ years of work experience as a Data Scientist in fintech preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Python, R, and SQL.
• Proficient in Logistic Regression, CatBoost, XGBoost, SVM, clustering, PCA.
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Spark.
• Team management experience is a plus.
• Strong business acumen and data-driven problem solving.
• Attention to detail in reports and analyses.
• Experience presenting ideas to stakeholders.
• Curious and eager to learn; strong collaboration.

Requirements to be successful in this role

• A degree in Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics or other similar quantitative field
• 5+ year work experience as a Data scientist preferably in fintech space
• Hands on experience with ML/programming tools such as Python, R, and SQL
• Proficiency in some of the following statistical techniques: Logistic Regression, Catboost, XGBoost models, SVM, Clustering, PCA etc.
• Experienced in distributed computing frameworks such as Spark
• Team management experience is a plus
• Good business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data driven quantitative methodologies
• Detailed oriented, is expected to ensure highest level of quality in reports & analysis
• Experience in presenting ideas and analysis to stakeholders
• Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn
• Should be a great teammate who promotes knowledge-sharing
