About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Science Manager to lead and deliver strategic data science, analytics, and data engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management expertise, stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to drive cross‑functional teams in delivering high‑impact data‑driven solutions. Experience in the Banking and Financial Services (BFSI) domain is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data science, data analytics, and data engineering projects aligned with business objectives.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, timelines, and success metrics in collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams comprising data scientists, data engineers, business analysts, and technology teams.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, or manage projects using Waterfall methodologies where applicable.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and resource constraints to ensure successful project execution.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.
• Manage stakeholder communication by providing regular status updates, project reports, and executive presentations.
• Collaborate with vendors, external partners, and internal business teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives and contribute to establishing project management best practices.
• Track project performance using KPIs and ensure adherence to organizational governance and compliance standards.

Required Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) in Project Management, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

• 8‑10 years of overall experience in Data Science Project Management or Data Analytics Management.
• 3‑5 years of experience managing data science, data analytics, or data engineering projects.
• Demonstrated success in delivering end‑to‑end projects from planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Experience managing cross‑functional teams, multiple stakeholders, and third‑party vendors.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience in budgeting, resource planning, project governance, and performance tracking.
• Good understanding of data science lifecycle, analytics platforms, and data engineering workflows.
• Prior experience in the Banking and Financial Services (BFSI) domain is highly preferred.
