Job summary

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in Mumbai seeks a Senior Lead in Data Science (Analytics) to own analytics programs and mentor a small team. You will deliver ML-driven solutions for growth, product and risk, and collaborate across functions to solve business problems.

You will build models for marketing and fraud, work with text data including topic modeling and sentiment analysis, and communicate insights with Python, SQL, and BI tools.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Science and Analytics domain.
• Work with cross functional teams: Growth, Product and Technology to identify and solve key business problems.
• Hands-on experience in building ML models: Marketing analytics (propensity model, customer segmentation) and Risk analytics (fraud model).
• In-depth knowledge of ML techniques like Deep Learning, Bagging and Boosting (Gradient Boosting, XGBoost, Light GBM).
• Experience in handling text data with Topic Modelling, Sentiment Analysis, Search enhancements, etc.
• Experienced in managing a team of 2-3 junior Data Scientists.
• Proficient in Python or R, SQL and Power BI/Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross functional teams to identify and solve key business problems.
• Build and deploy ML models for marketing and risk analytics.
• Apply ML techniques including Deep Learning, Gradient Boosting, XGBoost and LightGBM.
• Handle text data with topic modeling and sentiment analysis tasks.
• Lead and mentor a small team of Data Scientists (2-3).
• Collaborate with Growth, Product and Technology teams.
• Communicate findings effectively using Python, SQL and BI tools.

Responsibilities:

1) 7+ years of experience in Data Science and Analytics domain

2) Candidate would be required to work with cross functional teams: Growth, Product and Technology to identify and solve key business problems

3) Should have hands-on experience in building machine learning models: Marketing analytics (propensity model, customer segmentation etc.) and Risk analytics (fraud model)

4) In-depth knowledge of ML techniques like Deep Learning, Bagging and Boosting (Gradient Boosting, XGBoost, Light GBM etc.)

5) Good experience in handling text data and have experience in Topic Modelling, Sentiment Analysis, Search enhancements etc.

6) Team Management: Experienced in managing a team of 2-3 junior Data Scientist

7) Proficient in programming languages and tools: Python or R, SQL and Power BI/ Tableau.
