Job summary

Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement is seeking a Data Officer to support the PMS Team in building and maintaining vessel databases, and to resolve issues raised via Zoho tickets related to PMS data.

You will coordinate with the SMC (PMSO/ERPS), update ClickUp, ZoHo and SharePoint, train juniors, and ensure the PMS Database remains accurate and timely across all managed vessels, while fluently using English and applying solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications or Marine Engineering.
• 1 year experience assisting in a similar role in DB building activity for vessels.
• Sailing experience in any rank will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supports the PMS Team data operations and vessel databases.
• Resolve Zoho tickets related to PMS Data Support.
• Assist with database creation for new vessels.
• Maintain the Data Base Library.
• Engage with the SMC (PMSO/ERPS) to obtain required information.
• Update ClickUp, ZoHo, and SharePoint.
• Train subordinates and new joinees on DB creation and maintenance.
• Ensure PMS Database accuracy across all vessels.

BSM

As a Data Officer at BSM, you will be responsible for supporting the effective and efficient functioning of the PMS Team. Ensure the vessel Databases are properly built and maintained as accurately as possible. Ensure issues raised by the vessels via zoho tickets are resolved effectively and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Supports the BSM Maintenance strategy, standards, policies, procedures, and systems for the most efficient and effective operation of all vessels under BSM full management in accordance with relevant legislation, industry best practices and quality standards.
• Assist with Data Base Creation for new vessels
• Ensure the Data Base Library is maintained in a proper manner.
• Assist with Zoho Ticket resolution relevant to PMS Data Support.
• Assist with data entry and corrections Data Library and vessel Database.
• Engage directly with the SMC (PMSO/ERPS) to obtain all required information.
• Update the relevant control and communication systems like ClickUp, ZoHo, SharePoint.
• Train subordinates and new joinees as and when required with respect to DB Creation, its maintenance and correction.
• Ensure the PMS Database is as accurate as possible based on all available sources.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications or Marine Engineering
• At least 1 year experience assisting in a similar role in DB building activity for vessels
• Sailing experience in any rank will be an added advantage
