Job summary

Movate Technologies in India is seeking an experienced Data Modeler for hybrid work in Bangalore/Pune. The role focuses on enterprise data warehouse modernization and cloud migration, with Snowflake as the core platform.

The candidate will design logical and physical data models, translate requirements, and collaborate with dbt developers, data architects, and stakeholders to ensure scalable, high-performance data structures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data modeling for enterprise data warehouses.
• Strong Snowflake experience and cloud data platforms.
• Proficiency in Kimball dimensional modeling.
• Experience with SAP HANA migration, calculation views, and stored procedures.
• Advanced SQL and dbt proficiency.
• Experience with ER/Studio or Erwin Data Modeler.
• Ability to design logical and physical data models and ERDs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop logical and physical data models for enterprise data warehouse solutions.
• Translate business and architectural requirements into implementation-ready data models.
• Reverse-engineer SAP HANA data structures, Calculation Views, and Stored Procedures into Snowflake-compatible models.
• Define and document entity relationships, naming conventions, and data modeling standards.
• Develop dimensional models using Kimball methodology and apply Data Vault 2.0 concepts where applicable.
• Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical ERDs using industry-standard modeling tools.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to ensure consistency across data assets.
• Design Snowflake schemas, table structures, clustering keys, and optimization techniques.
• Work closely with dbt developers for model implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Participate in data migration and modernization projects involving cloud data warehouse platforms.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, scalability, and governance across all models.
• Support performance tuning and optimization of data structures within Snowflake.
