Job summary

Virtusa in India seeks a senior data architect to lead the design and governance of enterprise data models across cloud data warehouses and data lakes. You will shape conceptual, logical, and physical models for Redshift, Aurora, and related platforms, ensuring scalable performance and secure data loads.

The role requires hands-on experience with dimensional and semantic models, SQL mastery, and familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Hive, Erwin, ER Studio, and Informatica.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on design and implementation of Data Warehouse, dimensional and semantic models.
• Experience building data models from scratch on cloud data warehouses (Redshift, Aurora, DynamoDB).
• Strong SQL understanding and knowledge of source systems (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata).

Responsibilities

• Define and govern data modelling standards, tools, best practices, and development for enterprise data models.
• Identify architecture, infrastructure, and interfaces to data sources and automated data loads.
• Collaborate with business and solution teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop data models.

Job description

Responsibilities

Responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models on Cloud Data Warehouse, data marts, and data lakes on target platforms like Redshift. Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimization of data query performance via best practices. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively. Implement data requirements through new data strategies and designs across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL)and data tools (reporting, visualization, analytics, and machine learning). Work with business and application/solution teams to implement data strategies,build data flows, and develop conceptual/logical/physical data models Define and govern data modelling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models. Identify the architecture, infrastructure, and interfaces to data sources, tools supporting automated data loads, security concerns, analytic models, and data visualization.

Skills & Experience

• 10years of hands on design and implementation of Data Warehouse, Dimensional model and business semantic models
• Should have hands on experience in designing and build data models from scratch on Cloud Data Warehouse like Redshift, Aurora , Dynamo DB Experience in using data modelling tools like Erwin or ER Studio or others is required. Experience on modelling in Big data environment on -premise implementation, Hive Database is preferable Have a experience in SQL and good understanding of source systems like Oracle , SQL Server , Teradata etc is must Should have knowledge of Knowledge of any ETL tool,Informatica is preferable Strong communication skills Exposure to Insurance domain is preferable
