Job summary

Hoonar Tekwurks Consulting seeks a data modeling specialist to design conceptual, logical and physical data models for enterprise platforms. You will develop dimensional models, build star and snowflake schemas, and craft fact and dimension tables with conformed dimensions.

You will define grain, keys and relationships; implement SCD types, metadata and data lineage while collaborating with data engineers and BI teams to support analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models for enterprise data platforms.
• Develop dimensional models using Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Design fact and dimension tables, including conformed dimensions.
• Define grain, keys, relationships, cardinality and referential integrity.
• Design SCD Type 1, Type 2 and other historical tracking approaches.
• Work with Data Architects to define enterprise data architecture and modeling standards.
• Create models for Data Warehouse, Data Lake and Lakehouse environments.
• Develop data models for Bronze, Silver and Gold layers in a Lakehouse architecture.
• Optimize models for analytical workloads and BI reporting.
• Work closely with Power BI/Tableau teams to create models suitable for semantic-layer consumption.
• Analyze source systems and map source attributes to target data models.
• Perform source-to-target mapping and define transformation rules.
• Identify data quality, duplication, normalization and data integrity issues.
• Define metadata, business definitions and data lineage.
• Support Data Governance, Master Data Management and reference-data modeling.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers during implementation and validate the implemented model.
• Review SQL queries and database structures for performance and scalability.
