Job summary

Lexitas is seeking a detail-oriented Data Migration QA / Validation Engineer for our Chennai, India facility. You will ensure data migration quality by validating migrated data, designing reconciliation and testing frameworks, and ensuring data readiness throughout the migration lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in SQL, Python, MySQL, ETL testing, and data quality validations, with hands-on experience verifying data integrity across source and target systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS deployment, S3, EC2.

Summary

Lexitas is seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Data Migration QA / Validation Engineer to ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data migration initiatives. This role will be responsible for validating migrated data, designing reconciliation and testing frameworks, and ensuring data readiness throughout the migration lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL, Python, MySQL, ETL testing, and data quality validations, with hands-on experience in verifying data accuracy, completeness, security, and consistency across source and target systems. The role involves developing automated validation scripts, performing pre- and post-migration testing, investigating data discrepancies, and collaborating closely with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and ETL developers.

This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, reliable, and compliant data migration solutions while ensuring smooth deployment processes and maintaining data integrity across business systems.

Essential Functions:

• Will be responsible for quality in data migration. This includes accuracy, completeness, integrity and security of the transferred data.
• Will design validation strategies, build reconciliation scripts, and sign off on data migration readiness
• Strong testing experience for pre and post migration validations
• Write complex SQL queries, automated scripts (Python), or use data quality frameworks to verify data integrity.
• Test Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) workflows, data cleansing rules, and enrichment processes
• Build and maintain validation frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity
• Configure and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines)
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and pipeline failures
• Identify, log, triage, and retest migration discrepancies, collaborating closely with data engineers and ETL developers
• Collaborate with BAs to understand data requirements and business rules

Competencies, Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced SQL for data profiling, queries, and reconciliation
• Strong experience in Mysql database and python as programming language
• Should be comfortable in Linux
• Should have experience of AWS deployment and S3 EC2
• Experience in bitbucket, branching models
• CI-CD experience with bitbucket/GIT pipeline
