Job summary

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize large volumes of project and client media data across internal storage systems.
• Maintain accurate records of project files, folders, storage locations, and data status.
• Coordinate the secure movement of project data between centralized storage and assigned workstations/storage devices.
• Ensure the correct project data is made available to the assigned team members based on project requirements.
• Track incoming and outgoing project data throughout the post-production workflow.
• Receive completed project outputs from editors and perform basic checks for file completeness, naming, folder structure, and required deliverables.
• Coordinate with Project Managers for the smooth handover of completed outputs for final delivery.
• Maintain data organization and version control to minimize missing, duplicate, or outdated files.
• Follow internal data security, access control, backup, retention, and deletion procedures.
• Monitor storage usage and maintain efficient utilization of available storage.
• Identify and report missing files, corrupted data, transfer issues, storage problems, or other data-related risks promptly.
• Maintain documentation and logs related to project data movement and status.

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Manager to manage the organization, movement, security, and lifecycle of project data across our post-production operations.

The role requires someone who is highly organized, technically comfortable with large volumes of digital media, and capable of maintaining accurate records while coordinating data movement between storage systems and internal teams.

You will work closely with Editors, Project Managers, and Operations teams to ensure that project data is available to the right team at the right time and that completed work is properly tracked and archived or removed according to internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and organize large volumes of project and client media data across internal storage systems.
• Maintain accurate records of project files, folders, storage locations, and data status.
• Coordinate the secure movement of project data between centralized storage and assigned workstations/storage devices.

• Coordinate with the technical/operations team to resolve data transfer and storage-related issues.
• Handle client data with a high level of confidentiality and responsibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Applications, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Good understanding of file management, storage systems, data transfer, and digital media workflows.
• Comfortable working with large file sizes and high-volume data.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Good understanding of folder structures, file naming conventions, and version management.
• Ability to work with HDDs, SSDs, NAS/storage systems, cloud storage, and data transfer tools.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for storage devices, file transfers, and connectivity issues.
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in project data.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple teams and manage time-sensitive tasks.
• Strong sense of data confidentiality and security.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced post-production environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with video/photo production or post-production workflows.
• Familiarity with professional storage and media-management workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud storage and file-transfer platforms.
• Basic understanding of video formats, codecs, resolutions, and storage requirements.
• Experience handling large media files or production assets.
• Familiarity with tools such as LucidLink, Google Drive, AWS/S3, NAS, or similar storage platforms is an advantage.
