Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking a Data Governance Analyst with 3–5 years of experience to support enterprise data governance initiatives. You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to establish data ownership, improve data quality, maintain metadata and data lineage, and ensure adherence to governance standards across the organization.

The role is based in Mumbai as a full-time position. You will collaborate with data owners, stewards, compliance, privacy, security and risk

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality.
• Strong knowledge of data ownership, stewardship and CDEs.
• Experience with data dictionaries, glossaries and metadata management.
• Familiarity with data privacy, regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

• Support the implementation and adoption of data governance policies, standards, procedures, and operating frameworks.
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards to establish data ownership, accountability, and stewardship practices.
• Maintain and enhance business glossaries, data dictionaries, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and governance documentation.
• Support metadata management, data lineage documentation, and data classification initiatives.
• Define, monitor, and track data quality rules, metrics, issues, and remediation activities.
• Coordinate governance forums, working groups, and stakeholder meetings to drive governance adoption.
• Support implementation and utilization of data catalog, metadata, and data quality management tools.
• Assist in identifying data-related risks and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
• Prepare governance reports, dashboards, and status updates for management and governance committees.
• Partner with business, technology, compliance, privacy, security, and risk teams to support enterprise data management objectives.

Expertise You'll Bring

• 3-5 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Metadata Management, or Data Quality Management.
• Strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship frameworks, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), metadata management, and data lineage concepts.
• Experience developing and maintaining governance policies, standards, business glossaries, and data dictionaries.
