Job summary

VMC Soft Technologies, Inc in Bengaluru/Bangalore is seeking an experienced Data Governance Consultant to lead enterprise data governance initiatives for global BFSI clients. The role combines client advisory, solution architecture, and hands-on platform implementation across Collibra, Informatica, IBM IGC, and Alation.

You will partner with stakeholders to design metadata management, data catalog, data lineage, and quality frameworks, while enabling AI-driven governance and ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

• 15+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in Consulting, Advisory, Practice, or Pre-Sales focused on Data Governance and Data Management.
• Strong experience in enterprise Data Governance strategy and implementation.
• Hands-on expertise with one or more Data Governance platforms: Collibra, Informatica EDC, Informatica AXON, Informatica IDMC, IBM Information Governance Catalog (IGC), Alation.
• Strong understanding of: Data Governance Frameworks, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, Business Glossary, Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Security & Privacy.
• Experience with Data Observability and AI-enabled Data Governance capabilities.
• Strong understanding of Data Architecture, ETL concepts, Data Warehousing, and Reporting.
• Experience integrating metadata from multiple enterprise applications.
• Cloud platform experience on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile and traditional SDLC delivery models.
• Proven experience in solution architecture and enterprise consulting.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic consulting and advisory services for enterprise Data Governance and Data Management initiatives.
• Engage with business stakeholders, data teams, technical partners, and third-party vendors to define and implement Data Governance strategies.
• Architect and implement enterprise Data Governance solutions using platforms such as Collibra, Informatica EDC/AXON/IDMC, IBM IGC, Alation, or custom-built solutions.
• Design metadata management, business glossary, data catalog, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
• Define metadata ingestion, integration methodologies, and governance processes across enterprise systems.
• Build interfaces to integrate data from multiple business and technical sources.
• Drive Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Security & Privacy, and Data Observability initiatives.
• Enable AI-driven capabilities within Data Governance and Data Management programs.
• Collaborate with global Banking and Financial Services clients to understand business challenges and recommend governance solutions that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop thought leadership assets, points of view (POVs), methodologies, and reusable governance frameworks.
• Participate in solutioning activities, RFI/RFP responses, and customer presentations.
• Support business development initiatives through client workshops, proposals, and technical presentations.
• Represent the organization in industry forums, webinars, conferences, and public speaking engagements on Data Governance topics.
• Ensure successful delivery using both Agile and Waterfall (SDLC) methodologies.
• Mentor delivery teams and provide governance best practices across engagements.
