Data Engineer (India)

Interpath, based in Gurugram, India, is seeking a Data Engineer to maintain and support our newly established Azure data warehouse. In this hands‑on role you will collaborate with the Applications Team, Finance, the Data Governance & Quality Manager, and the wider IT function to ensure our data remains accurate, timely, and trusted. Working in a small but growing team, you will gain exposure to multiple data domains and opportunities for learning and growth.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the Azure Data Warehouse
• Develop and maintain ETL processes, data mappings and transformations
• Ensure data integrity, quality, privacy and security in line with client and regulatory requirements
• Optimise data solutions for performance and scalabilityAdhere to Interpath's software engineering best practices
• Act as a point of contact for business data and develop subject‑matter expertise

Essential Experience Required

• 2+ years’ experience in a data engineering role
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks notebooks and Azure Synapse pipelines
• Strong SQL experience, including views and stored procedures
• Experience working with APIs to integrate data flows between disparate cloud systems
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• The aptitude to quickly understand information, business models and requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish working relationships

Desirable Criteria

• Experience following CI/CD protocols through Azure DevOps pipelines
• Expertise in Business Intelligence, ideally via Power BI for data visualisation and reporting
• Awareness of regulated environments, including data legislation and cyber security accreditations (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials)
• Experience working in a financial services firm
