Data Engineer (India) – Interpath – Gurugram, India

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to maintain and support our newly established Azure data warehouse. In this hands‑on role, you’ll collaborate with the Applications Team, Finance, the Data Governance & Quality Manager, and the wider IT function to ensure our data remains accurate, timely, and trusted.

In a small but growing team, you’ll gain exposure to multiple data domains making this an ideal role for someone eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the Azure Data warehouse.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes, data mappings & transformations.
• Ensure data integrity, quality, privacy, and security, in line with client and regulatory requirements.
• Optimise data solutions for performance and scalability.
• Adhere to Interpath’s software engineering best practices.
• Act as a point of contact for business data developing subject matter expertise.

Essential Experience Required

• 2+ years’ experience in a data engineering role.
• Hands on experience with Databricks notebooks and Azure Synapse pipelines.
• Strong SQL experience (including views and stored procedures).
• Experience of working with APIs to integrate data flows between disparate cloud systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• The aptitude to quickly understand information, business models and requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish working relationships.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience following CI/CD protocols through Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Expertise in Business Intelligence, ideally via Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
• Awareness of regulated environments, including data legislation and cyber security accreditations (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials).
• Experience of working in a financial services firm.
