Job summary

Fractal Analytics is seeking a Data Engineer to own data integration and streaming initiatives. You will design and implement event-driven pipelines using Confluent Kafka, manage CDC-based data flows, and ensure data quality across legacy and modern systems.

The role requires strong SQL and Python skills, plus experience with cloud environments, CI/CD, and Schema Registry. You will collaborate closely with business and tech teams to deliver real-time analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering foundation in modelling, transformation, and integration.
• Experience with cloud environments and CI/CD for data platforms.
• Experience with Kafka/Confluent Platform, CDC solutions, and managing topics, schemas, connectors.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and real-time streaming patterns.
• Familiarity with Avro/JSON schema management and Schema Registry.
• Experience integrating data between legacy and modern platforms.
• Strong SQL/Python skills and relational database experience.
• Understanding of data mapping and data quality.
• Strong stakeholder communication across business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

Data Engineer (data integration and streaming platforms)

Data Engineer with strong experience in event-driven data integration and streaming platforms, ideally with hands-on expertise in Confluent Kafka and CDC technologies.

Experience

• Strong Data Engineering background, including data modelling, transformation, and integration
• Experience working within cloud environments and tools
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms
• Ideally experience with Apache Kafka/Confluent Platform, inc support CDC (Change Data Capture) solutions, and managing Kafka topics, schemas, connectors, and stream processing pipelines
• Good understanding of event-driven architecture and real-time data streaming patterns
• Familiarity with Avro/JSON schema management and Schema Registry
• Experience integrating data between legacy and modern platforms
• Strong SQL/Python skills and experience working with relational databases
• Understanding of data mapping, data quality, and common data models
