Job summary

Fractal is seeking a Data Engineer focused on data integration and streaming platforms in Bengaluru. You will work with event-driven pipelines, Confluent Kafka, and CDC to integrate data across legacy and modern systems.

You will leverage strong SQL and Python skills, engage with schema management and real-time processing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong Data Engineering background including data modelling, transformation, and integration.
• Experience with cloud environments and tools.
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms.
• Apache Kafka/Confluent Platform experience with CDC solutions and managing topics, schemas, connectors, and streams.
• Event-driven architecture and real-time data streaming patterns.
• Familiarity with Avro/JSON schema management and Schema Registry.
• Experience integrating data between legacy and modern platforms.
• Strong SQL/Python skills and relational databases knowledge.
• Understanding of data mapping, data quality, and common data models.
• Strong stakeholder communication across business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data integration and streaming pipelines using Kafka/Confluent.
• Model, transform, and unify data across systems.

Data Engineer (data integration and streaming platforms)

Data Engineer with strong experience in event-driven data integration and streaming platforms, ideally with hands‑on expertise in Confluent Kafka and CDC technologies.

Experience

• Strong Data Engineering background, including data modelling, transformation, and integration
• Experience working within cloud environments and tools
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms
• Ideally experience with Apache Kafka/Confluent Platform, inc support CDC (Change Data Capture) solutions, and managing Kafka topics, schemas, connectors, and stream processing pipelines
• Good understanding of event-driven architecture and real-time data streaming patterns
• Familiarity with Avro/JSON schema management and Schema Registry
• Experience integrating data between legacy and modern platforms
• Strong SQL/Python skills and experience working with relational databases
• Understanding of data mapping, data quality, and common data models
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to work across business and technical teams
