Amazon is expanding the Data Center management team in India. This position within Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) requires broad Data Center knowledge with Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in as many specific fields as possible. The location for this job will be in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain critical infrastructure supporting IT operations within the Indian Data Center space, including event, incident, problem, and change management.
• Provide on‑call, weekend, and rotational shift support (24x7).
• Lead and develop a high‑performing technical team across a cluster of data centers.
• Ensure 100% uptime for all customer‑supporting infrastructure.
• Plan and execute strategic corrective and preventative maintenance for mission‑critical systems.
• Drive continuous improvement of safety and operational metrics across multiple Amazon owned and co‑location sites.
• Manage vendor performance, set high standards, conduct regular reviews, and develop relationships with landlords, facility vendors, and internal teams.
• Prepare for and respond to critical events, coordinating escalation and recovery efforts.
• Implement and manage risk strategies aligned with corporate corporate risk plans.
• Collaborate across cross‑functional teams within a complex organizational matrix.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 12+ years of management experience.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations (feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDU, chillers, pumps, air handling units, CRAC).
• Experience with large‑scale mechanical and power systems.
• Experience hiring, developing, and managing high‑performing technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical engineering best practices including breaker coordination studies, switchgear sequencing, and NEC code.
• Experience owning the operation of a mission‑critical team or product.
• Experience with large‑scale technical operations or large‑scale compute farms.
• Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
