Description: AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

About You

You will be a proven manager with experience managing teams of high performers. You will have the ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence in every area of your role. You will drive performance levels to achieve the pace at which we build and operate Data Centers in India for Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL). You will have previous experience in Data Centers, either building or managing (or both) along with exposure to developing great relationships with internal teams and external vendors. You will also have a passion for technology and a desire to be the best at your job every day.

About The Role

As a Data Center Manager in ADSIPL, you will manage the world’s largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure in India. You will encounter interesting, challenging and complex problems daily. Being a technical manager in ADSIPL means you can innovate to solve these issues and help drive Operations Excellence in all areas of your role.

Your day job at ADSIPL will include (but not limited to):

• Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
• Maintaining existing co-located and in-house Data Centers
• Helping build and bring online new Data Centers
• Constantly improving all our processes and procedures. We believe there is nothing we cannot improve
• Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors
• Liaising with internal teams & management groups
• Ensuring we adhere to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers
• Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilizing those metrics to drive positive changes
• Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in managing and troubleshooting networks
• 7+ years of operations management experience
• Experience in major facilities incident management
• Experience leading process improvements
• Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience, 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience and examples of developing engineers and building successful teams experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 3+ months of network and operating system support experience
• Experience in project management
• 1+ years of Agile methods and processes experience
• Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts
• Experience implementing change management successfully transitioning programs into large-scale operations
• 3+ years of capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or similar experience
