Role Description

This role is responsible for designing and optimizing data center architectures that support Cloudstrats’ AI platforms and large-scale digital initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include assessing business and technical requirements, developing scalable infrastructure designs, and defining standards for data center layout, capacity planning, and resilience. The Data Center Architect collaborates with networking, infrastructure, and solution architecture teams to ensure high availability, performance, security, and compliance across environments. This role also involves reviewing existing setups, recommending improvements, documenting architectures, and supporting implementation and migration projects in line with organizational strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Data Center Architecture and Solution Architecture, with experience designing scalable, secure, and resilient environments.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure and Data Center Infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, and power/cooling considerations.
• Proven experience with data center migrations, including lift-and-drop (lift-and-shift) of physical and virtual workloads, server/rack relocation planning, minimal-downtime cutover strategies, and pre/post-migration validation.
• Experience conducting physical site assessments for new or existing facilities, including power capacity, cooling load, floor space, and structural/rack layout audits prior to build-out or relocation.
• Working knowledge of rack and cabling standards (e.g., structured cabling, hot/cold aisle containment, cable management best practices, labeling conventions) to ensure clean, maintainable installations.
• Familiarity with DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools for asset tracking, capacity monitoring, power/environmental management, and change management.
• Vendor/OEM coordination experience, including liaising with server, storage, networking, cooling (CRAC/CRAH), and UPS/power vendors for procurement, installation, warranty support, escalations, and SLA management.
• Solid Networking knowledge covering LAN/WAN, routing, switching, load balancing, and network security within data center environments.
• Proficiency in capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery design for mission-critical systems.
• Experience with cloud and hybrid architectures (e.g., private cloud, public cloud integration) is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks (e.g., Tier classification, ISO/IEC, ITIL) and regulatory requirements relevant to data centers.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, with strong documentation and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced certifications in data center or network technologies are a plus.
• Demonstrated experience working in complex government or enterprise environments is an advantage.
