Data Analyst with strong Power BI expertise at Linkfields Innovations (Pty) Ltd, part of the Data & AI Center of Excellence (CoE). The role focuses on transforming data into actionable insights, collaborating with business teams to deliver dashboards that drive decision-making.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver actionable insights.
• Perform data analysis, validation, and interpretation using SQL, Excel, and other analytical tools.
• Build and optimize data models within Power BI for efficiency and scalability.
• Develop DAX queries and calculations to enhance dashboard functionality.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through proper validation and testing.
• Work with Data Engineers to integrate multiple data sources (SQL Server, Excel, APIs, cloud sources) into Power BI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support reporting and analytics needs across departments.
• Maintain documentation, user guides, and provide training to business users for Power BI reports.
• Stay updated with the latest features of Power BI and recommend best practices for dashboard design and performance.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
• 5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Analyst, with strong focus on Power BI.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
• Strong expertise in building data models, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations.
• Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses, and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Excellent understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including business, IT, and data engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik) in addition to Power BI.
• Knowledge of Python for advanced data analysis and automation.
• Familiarity with Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
• Experience with data governance, quality, and compliance practices.
• Microsoft Power BI certification or equivalent.
