Job summary

DB Power Ltd is seeking an experienced GM – Accounts to build and lead the Accounts & Financial Control function for a scalable renewable energy platform across Solar, Wind and BESS projects.

The role will collaborate with the CFO and business heads across project development, commercial, project finance, taxation, treasury and operations to deliver robust governance and financial discipline.

Qualifications

• CA with 15+ years of relevant experience in finance for large energy projects.
• Hands-on experience in renewable energy project accounting (solar/wind/BESS) and SPVs.
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, taxation and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Build a scalable Accounts & Financial Control framework for multi-project renewable platform.
• Lead project accounting across Solar, Wind and BESS projects including development costs, CWIP, capitalization and fixed assets.
• Drive monthly/annual financial closure, Ind AS reporting, MIS, budgeting and management reporting.
• Establish robust systems across projects, SPVs and multiple states; oversee GST, Income Tax, TDS, audits.
• Support project evaluation, financial modelling, IRR analysis and funding decisions.
• Collaborate with Project Finance/Treasury on closure and lender reporting.
• Monitor working capital, receivables, cash flows and project performance.
• Lead ERP implementation and build a high-performing Finance & Accounts team.

About the Company:

DB Power Ltd (Dainik Bhaskar Group Co.) is building a scalable C&I – focused renewable energy platform, targeting approximately 1 GW of renewable capacity over the next two years, comprising 750 MW Solar, 250 MW Wind and 750 MWh BESS.

The platform will serve A+ credit – rated C&I customers, directly and through channel partners, with an objective of delivering ~20% equity IRR. The initial focus is on Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, leveraging STU transmission.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced GM – Accounts to build and lead the Accounts & Financial Control function as the business scales.

The role will be a key part of the leadership team and will work closely with the CFO and business heads across project development, commercial, project finance, taxation, treasury and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build a scalable Accounts & Financial Control framework for a multi – project renewable energy platform.
• Lead project accounting across Solar, Wind and BESS projects, including development costs, CWIP, capitalization, fixed assets and depreciation.
• Drive monthly/annual financial closure, Ind AS reporting, MIS, budgeting and management reporting.
• Establish robust accounting and reporting systems across projects, SPVs and multiple states.
• Oversee GST, Income Tax, TDS, statutory compliance and audits.
• Support project evaluation, financial modelling, project returns / IRR analysis and investment decisions.
• Work closely with Project Finance/Treasury teams on financial closure, lender reporting and project funding.
• Monitor working capital, receivables, cash flows and project financial performance.
• Support commercial teams on C&I customer contracts, PPAs, billing, revenue recognition and collections.
• Establish strong internal financial controls, governance, SOPs and risk – management processes.
• Lead ERP implementation/process automation and build a high – performing Finance & Accounts team.

What We Are Looking For:

• CA with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in Renewable Energy / Power Generation / Infrastructure / EPC / C&I Energy.
• Hands – on experience in Solar and/or Wind projects; exposure to BESS will be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, SPVs, CWIP, capitalization and fixed assets.
• Exposure to project finance, financial closure and lender reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Ind AS, taxation, statutory compliance and internal controls.
• Experience with C&I renewable energy, open access, group captive, PPAs or power – sector commercial arrangements will be preferred.
• Strong commercial orientation, analytical ability and leadership skills.
• Experience in building/scaling finance processes and teams in a high – growth environment.
