Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced OT/ICS security professional to protect critical industrial networks in Chennai. You will work with DCS, SCADA, PLCs and HMI systems, implement IDS/IPS and firewall controls, and ensure secure network segmentation and policy enforcement across enterprise environments.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s in a computer field with CISSP/CISA CEH or OT certifications, plus hands‑on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto and VMware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer field with mandatory security certs.
• Certifications listed (CCNA Security, CISSP, CEH, OT OT).
• Extensive OT/ICS security and network disciplines required.

Responsibilities

• Work in OT ICS security across DCS/SCADA/PLCs/HMI environments.
• Understand cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and ICS protocols.
• Install/manage IDS/IPS and leading firewall products.
• Deploy and manage virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and troubleshoot networks.
• Implement host-based security tech (EDR/NDR, DLP, whitelisting).
• Develop and deliver end-user security training.
• Design network segmentation and secure topology.
• Configure network devices (routers, switches, VPN, QoS).
• Develop security policies and procedures; provide L2/L3 support.

Job description

Responsibilities

• 15+ Years experience working within an OT Industrial Control Systems which may include one or more of the following technologies: DCS, SCADA, PLCs, HMI, Data Historians including OSI PI, EDNA, Wonderware
• An understanding of Cybersecurity Frameworks (e.g. NIST, NCSC, ISO 270001, COBIT) and ICS protocols (e.g. BACnet, Modbus, PROFINET, PROFIBUS)
• Experience of performing the installation and/or management Intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS)
• Experience performing the installation and/or management of network-based firewall products (Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Sophos, SonicWall etc)
• Experience implementing and managing virtual environments including performing network troubleshooting (VMware, Microsoft Hypervisor)
• Experience in implementing Host-based security technologies including end point protection technologies (e.g. Antivirus, Data Leakage Prevention, Host IPS, Whitelisting, XDR, EDR,NDR)
• Experience in developing and delivering end user training
• Experience in network segmentation and network design
• Experience in Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
• Experience in developing, evaluating, implementing Security Policy and Procedures
• Provide Level‑2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related field, plus one of the following certifications is mandatory:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security, CCNP, or CCIE)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• ISA99 or IC32‑34 related OT certification
