Job summary

NIIT Foundation (NF) seeks a dynamic Cyber Security Trainer to deliver structured training under the Cyber Smart AI Prime course and support the Cyber & AI Workforce program for college students, graduates, and ITI/Polytechnic students (16 years and above) in Navi Mumbai.

The trainer will lead hands-on labs, develop materials, assess learners, and maintain attendance and certification records while coordinating project activities and outreach to communities.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate in CS, cybersecurity, AI or related discipline.
• 13 years of experience in training, teaching, or technical instruction preferred.
• Strong cybersecurity principles, network security, ethical hacking, firewalls, and IDS knowledge.
• Hands-on with security tools, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
• Experience in training, mentoring, or teaching is advantageous.
• Strong communication, presentation and mentoring skills for youth.
• MS Office proficiency and report preparation.
• Willingness to travel to nearby locations for sessions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured training on cybersecurity concepts, network protocols, cryptography, and security practices as per curriculum.
• Facilitate sessions on AI fundamentals, including NLP, computer vision, ML, and AI applications.
• Deliver cybersecurity concepts and tools training to undergrad and postgrad students.
• Conduct hands-on labs on network security, ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, and web security.
• Develop and update training content, labs, and learning materials aligned with industry practices.
• Guide students on projects, assignments, and practical cybersecurity applications.
• Evaluate student performance through assessments, assignments, and project reviews.
• Maintain training MIS including attendance, assessments, feedback, and certifications.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in delivering practical training, mentoring students, and conducting engaging lab sessions. Passion for teaching and staying updated with latest cybersecurity trends is a must.

About the Project

The Digital Transformation Van (DTV) initiative aims to reduce the digital divide by delivering cybersecurity, artificial intelligence awareness, and digital skills training directly to underserved communities. The program focuses on empowering youth and students with future-ready skills, career awareness, and practical knowledge through mobile training units and community engagement.

Position Overview

The Trainer will be responsible for delivering training under the Cyber Smart AI Prime course and supporting the Cyber & AI Workforce program. The role involves conducting engaging training sessions on cybersecurity fundamentals and AI concepts for college students, graduates, and ITI/Polytechnic students (16 years and above). The trainer will also support student engagement, practical learning, and career awareness while ensuring effective implementation of training activities under the DTV project.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structured training sessions on cybersecurity concepts, network protocols, cryptography, and security practices as per the course curriculum.
• Facilitate sessions on Artificial Intelligence fundamentals, including NLP, computer vision, machine learning, and AI applications.
• Deliver technical training on cybersecurity concepts and tools to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Conduct hands-on lab sessions and practical exercises on areas such as network security, ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, and web security.
• Develop and update training content, lab exercises, and learning materials aligned with industry practices.
• Guide students on projects, assignments, and practical cybersecurity applications.
• Evaluate student performance through assessments, assignments, and project reviews.
• Maintain training MIS including attendance, assessments, feedback, and certification records.
• Stay updated with latest cybersecurity threats, tools, and best practices.
• Prepare lesson plans, presentations, and training materials and maintain attendance and training records.
• Support student mobilization, counselling, and community outreach to ensure participation in the program.
• Coordinate with the project team to maintain reports, documentation, and smooth implementation of training activities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or related discipline.
• 13 years of experience in training, teaching, or technical instruction preferred.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, ethical hacking, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
• Hands-on experience with security tools, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments, Networking Concepts.
• Prior experience in training, mentoring, or teaching is an added advantage.
• Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills with the ability to engage youth and students.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and report preparation.
• Preferred to have his/her own vehicle for travelling to nearby locations for sessions (If required).
