Job summary

Check Point Software Technologies is seeking a passionate Backend Developer Engineer to join our Backend team in Bengaluru. You will investigate, troubleshoot, and improve large-scale backend services, collaborating with Support, Product, QA, and Engineering to deliver reliable software that meets customer needs.

The role requires 1–3 years of backend experience, proficiency in Python and/or Java, and a foundational understanding of distributed systems, REST APIs, and databases.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of backend software development experience.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field.
• Basic understanding of distributed systems concepts.
• Hands-on in Python and/or Java, with REST APIs knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms or containerized environments.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MySQL and Git/CI/CD.

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex customer-reported issues in production environments.
• Analyze logs, debug backend services, and perform root-cause investigations across distributed systems.
• Develop bug fixes, enhancements, and stability improvements for backend services and APIs.
• Work directly with customers to understand environments, challenges, and needs.
• Collaborate with Support, QA, Product Management, and Engineering for rapid resolutions.
• Improve product reliability, performance, and customer experience through engineering efforts.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and ongoing development process improvements.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex customer-reported issues in production environments
• Analyze logs, debug backend services, and perform root-cause investigations across distributed systems
• Develop bug fixes, enhancements, and stability improvements for backend services and APIs
• Work directly with customers to understand their environments, technical challenges, and business needs
• Collaborate closely with Support, QA, Product Management, and Engineering teams to drive fast and effective issue resolution
• Improve product reliability, performance, and customer experience through proactive engineering efforts
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of development processes
• Contribute to maintaining high engineering standards in a large-scale, enterprise-grade security product

Skills and Requirements:

Technical:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 1–3 years of experience in backend software development
• Basic understanding of backend services and distributed systems concepts
• Hands-on experience or academic background in backend programming using Python and/or Java
• Familiarity with backend architectures, REST APIs, and database interactions
• Experience working with cloud platforms or containerized environments through projects, internships, or coursework
• Basic knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD concepts, and modern development workflows
• Exposure to AI/ML technologies, including experience working with AI-powered tools, automation workflows, or integrating AI-based services and APIs
• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development practices and tools (such as code assistants, automated debugging, or AI-driven productivity solutions)
