Job summary

Cytiva, part of Danaher, is seeking a on-site Custom Upgrade Engineer for Pune, India. You will drive fulfillment of customized upgrades from inquiry through installation, collaborating with Global Services, Global Supply Chain, and external OEMs to ensure solutions meet customer needs and compliance.

You will prepare quotes, maintain technical docs, and support quality checks while working with suppliers and internal teams to deliver value to life sciences customers.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in engineering, service, manufacturing or similar technical roles.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

The Custom Upgrade Engineer is responsible for driving world-class fulfilment of Custom upgrade requests to secure internal and external customer satisfaction.

This is done through cross-functional collaborations with internal stakeholders and functions e.g., Global supply chain, manufacturing sites, Global Services and Custom Engineering as well as through strong collaboration with external functions e.g., Original Equipment Manufacturers and other Suppliers. Custom Upgrade Team (CUpgr) supports internal and external customers with customized upgrades of already existing systems. The Custom Upgrade Engineer handles, supports and oversees the whole chain from request to final installation.

This position reports to the Sr Manager, Global Services Custom Products and Repair Center Operations and is part of the Custom Upgrades Team located in Pune, India and will be an on-site role. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

• Handle custom upgrade requests from initial review through delivery and installation support.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and technical experts to define feasible and compliant solutions.
• Prepare quotations and communicate progress, lead times, costs, and technical information to requestors.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and work instructions for upgrade execution.
• Support quality checks, issue resolution, customer complaints, and continuous improvement activities.

Who you are:

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience from engineering, service, manufacturing, supply chain, or a similar technical environment.
• Experience managing customer requests, technical documentation, and/or project coordination.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills, with ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

• Travel up to 10%.
• Ability to perform hands-on mechanical work, including assembly, adjustment, and modification of systems and components when required.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Understanding of Cytiva and Pall products and experience from Service or Systems Engineering.
• Experience working with requirement specifications, quotations, and supplier discussions related to price and lead time.
• Experience using systems such as Magic and Oracle.
