Accenture India Private Limited seeks an experienced Custom Software Engineer Project Role to design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for automotive testing and simulation environments.

You will work with cross-functional teams across locations, developing Python-based automation, integrating CARLA and CarMaker, and delivering reusable libraries and distributed Python packages.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Test Automation, Automation Engineering, Python Development, Automotive Testing, or related domain.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and automation frameworks.
  • Experience developing OS-agnostic Python applications for Windows, Linux, macOS.
  • Familiarity with Python packaging, virtual environments, and .whl distribution.
  • Experience with HIL testing, hardware interfaces, and test infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP automotive protocols is a plus.
  • Git, CI/CD workflows, and software configuration management experience.
  • Exposure to containerization and automation tools (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Ability to learn new tools, simulation platforms, and automotive technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop HIL hardware driver abstraction layers for reusable interfaces.
  • Develop OS-agnostic Python automation solutions for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Design automation frameworks and reusable components for automotive testing and validation.

Summary

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining automation solutions for automotive testing and simulation environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across different national and international locations and collaborate with experts in test automation, HIL systems, simulation, software development, and automotive engineering. You will actively contribute to HIL hardware driver abstraction, OS-agnostic Python automation, simulation integration, reusable library development, and Python package distribution for automotive testing applications.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • You will design and develop HIL hardware driver abstraction layers to enable standardized and reusable interfaces for different hardware components and test environments.
  • You will develop OS-agnostic Python automation solutions supporting Windows, Linux, and macOS platforms.
  • You will design automation frameworks and reusable components for automotive testing and validation activities.
  • You will integrate and automate CARLA and CarMaker simulation environments for virtual testing and scenario-based validation.
  • You will develop interfaces and automation utilities for communication between simulation platforms, test frameworks, and HIL hardware.
  • You will work with and maintain reusable libraries including P736, CX735, S750, and U758 and support their integration into automation solutions.
  • You will develop, package, version, and distribute Python libraries in .whl format for internal and project-wide consumption.
  • You will contribute to technical documentation covering architecture, APIs, libraries, installation procedures, configuration, and usage guidelines.
  • You will support continuous improvement of automation frameworks, development processes, and reusable software components.
Professional & Technical Skills
  • Overall, 4+ years of experience in Test Automation, Automation Engineering, Python Development, Automotive Testing, or a related domain.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and development of automation frameworks, reusable libraries, and utilities.
  • Experience in developing OS-agnostic/cross-platform Python applications for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Strong understanding of Python packaging, dependency management, virtual environments, and .whl package creation and distribution.
  • Hands-on experience in HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing and familiarity with HIL hardware, interfaces, drivers, and test infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP, or related interfaces is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of automotive ECU systems, HIL infrastructure, simulation-based testing, and virtual validation is preferred.
  • Experience working with P736, CX735, S750, and U758 libraries or equivalent automotive automation libraries is desirable.
  • Good understanding of Git, branching strategies, version control, and software configuration management.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, packaging, and distribution workflows is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Docker, Jenkins/GitLab CI, artifact repositories, or package repositories is desirable.
  • You have strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across software, hardware, and simulation environments.
  • You are an excellent team player with good communication and collaboration skills.
  • You demonstrate ownership and the ability to independently drive assigned automation work packages.
  • You have a strong willingness to learn new tools, simulation platforms, hardware interfaces, and automotive technologies.
